Community members are committed to driving change and taking a long-term view on generating significant social and economic value. e are currently seeking a Community Lead who will contribute to the development and execution of a strong value proposition for FBC Members of the Forum.   Reporting lines and interactions   The Partner Engagement Lead will report to Andrienne d’Arenberg, Head of Family Business Community.   Internally, this person will work with colleagues in the Business Engagement team, Global Programming, and Public Engagement teams, as well as Leads for projects and initiatives that constitute the value proposition of the Forum. Externally, primary interactions will be with a broad range of stakeholders including family business owners, the next generation, and other non-family executives involved in the member companies.   Breakdown of main responsibilities   The Community Lead will contribute to the development and implementation of the Forum’s strategy for engaging family-owned and family-controlled companies. He or she will also contribute to building and delivering a compelling agenda for the community to improve their understanding of issues specific to the ownership group, develop actionable insights and generate impact in keeping with the Forum’s mission. Primary activities include: Business development: Develop and managed long-term, trusted partnerships with the foremost family businesses globally, engaging them actively in the FBC and broader work of the Forum; collaborate with the relevant industry / geographic teams within the Forum to ensure a coordinated engagement approach for family owned and controlled companies Content and programming: Help identify cutting-edge issues for family businesses and translate them and other priorities into a sustainable value proposition for the community; develop a body of unique knowledge for the community by working with global experts and practitioners; and lead or co-lead the development and delivery, both content and programming, of community events including concept development, session design, identification of key speakers and participants, and session delivery Operational tasks: Keep both internal and external stakeholders up to date on project developments, challenges and opportunities, and overall topic agendas. The alliance includes more than 90 partners representing the private sector, governments, civil society organizations, indigenous peoples groups and multilateral organizations who are committed to reducing tropical deforestation associated with the production of palm oil, soy, beef and pulp and paper.   Since 2015, the World Economic Forum has hosted the TFA 2020 secretariat, and has recently received support by international donors, including the governments of Norway, the United Kingdom and the Netherlands, to continue to host the secretariat until spring 2021.   In collaboration with the supporting development agencies and other members of the TFA 2020 Steering Committee, the Forum is searching for a Director of the Tropical Forest Alliance 2020. Reporting lines and interactions The role will be based within the Centre for Global Public Goods led by Dominic Waughray, Head of International Institutional Agenda, Member of the Executive Committee.   Main responsibilities   The Director will lead and manage the TFA 2020 secretariat, ensuring its objectives and expected deliverables are met. As the TFA is a highly networked partnership, you will engage with all its partners and constituents, as well as with the World Economic Forum and its various networks. This characteristic will be a core requisite for success in this role.   Preferred requirements and experience Have at least 15 years of professional experience, and possess proven issue, project management and people leadership capabilities in sustainable tropical land use, agriculture, forestry or related areas as well as in related economic policy, development finance, and social development and political economy issues Have at least to master’s degree in environment and resource management issues, forests and deforestation, environmental economics, finance, economic policy and/or business strategy and sustainability Worked in an international and multicultural environment and possess strong knowledge in the key areas of building and delivering global public-private partnerships Have a strong interest in deepening public-private collaboration and committed to the objectives of TFA 2020 and the World Economic Forum's wider mission Have a perfect command of written and spoken English; fluency in at least one other language is an advantage Possess excellent communication, interpersonal and networking skills; a positive team player, hardworking and inspirational Enjoy talking to the media and be able to help moderate and facilitate high-level discussions The TFA 2020 Director will be appointed on a three-year fixed term contract at Level IV equivalent within the World Economic Forum pay structure. PARTNER ENGAGEMENT LEAD, ENERGY or MOBILITY INDUSTRIES ENGAGEMENT MANAGEMENT TEAM   The World Economic Forum, committed to improving the state of the world, is the International Organization for Public-Private Cooperation.   The Forum engages the foremost political, business and other leaders of society to shape global, regional and industry agendas.   Why we are recruiting:   As a membership organization, the Forum, through the Business Engagement group, engages businesses in projects and initiatives – online and offline – to address industry, regional and systemic issues.   Within Business Engagement, the key role of the Engagement Management team is to orchestrate engagement of the Forum’s Partners, who are the world’s most relevant and impactful business organizations, into and across the Forum’s value streams (events, initiatives, communities and projects).   As part of the Engagement Management Team, the Partner Engagement Lead will be responsible for ensuring excellence in managing his/her portfolio of Partners from the Energy or Mobility sector and further developing their engagement across the Forum’s value proposition.   Reporting lines and interactions:   The Partner Engagement Lead will report to Tatiana Kalashnikova, Head of Partnership Engagement Cluster – Energy, Basics, Mobility and Infrastructure.   Internally, this person will work with colleagues in the Business Engagement team, Industry teams responsible for Energy and Mobility Industries, and Leads for projects and initiatives that constitute the entirety of the value proposition of the Forum; and externally with a broad range of stakeholders in partner companies in the Energy and Mobility sectors.   Breakdown of main responsibilities: Partner engagement: Act as a primary person to build and develop trusted, long-term relationships with Partners, understand Partners’ strategic interests, and co-develop and drive the implementation of tailored engagement plans based on topics of interest to the Partners Develop relationships and ensure meaningful engagement opportunities at the C-suite level of Partner companies (CEO, Chairman, CDO, CSO). Identify and develop strategic relationships with key executives relevant to deepening account penetration Act as a trusted adviser for Partner companies, guiding them on the Forum’s platform and ensuring that they derive the highest value from their engagement.
