Event Technology Services Manager

Event Technology Services Manager   The World Economic Forum, committed to improving the state of the world, is the international organization for public-private cooperation.   The Forum engages the foremost political, business and other leaders of society to shape global, regional and industry agendas.   Why we are recruiting   The event technology services manager, joining to reinforce the Event Technology Services team, will bring strong organizational and coordination skills to deliver Forum meeting needs. Good communication abilities and flexibility to navigate complex environments and setups are needed.   Reporting lines and interactions   As part of the Global Programming Group, the Event Technology Services Manager will report to the Head of Event IT and Infrastructure and interact with numerous international technology suppliers, event management firms, selected Strategic Partners of the Forum and the internal IT team.   Breakdown of main responsibilities   • 50% Project management • 30% Events planning and logistics • 20% Coordination and administrative support   The successful candidate will be assessed on   • Ability to manage and drive IT projects, including planning, logistics and lead resources, to successfully provide the technology required for Forum annual and regional meetings, as well as for smaller workshops and partner meetings • Capacity to work with multiple internal Forum units (Digital Technology, Security, Event Management, Participant Services, Design, Infrastructure) to adapt and meet the technology requirements to their needs • Technical savoir-faire and ability to identify new technological innovations with the aim of improving Forum events and enhancing the experience of participants • Establishing measures for success including KPIs, written debriefs and executive summaries • Willingness to travel abroad several times a year for periods of 1 to 4 weeks   Preferred Requirements and Experience   • Bachelor’s degree in IT and/or Business Administration • 8 to 10 years’ relevant work experience, preferably with IT infrastructure • Experience in Event management, in IT positions • Experience in Project management, lead and operational • Proven leadership ability • Strong organizational and negotiation skills • Ability to convey concepts and ideas to an executive audience • Superior analytical, evaluation and problem-solving abilities • Exceptionally service-oriented • Excellent oral and written communication skills in English, knowledge of German would be a plus   Why work at the Forum   We believe that progress happens by bringing together people from all walks of life, who have the drive and the influence to improve the state of the world by building awareness and cooperation, shaping mindsets and agendas and driving collective action. You will assist in the management of registration and the security badge process at the Forum’s Geneva headquarters, Annual Meeting in Davos and other events.   Reporting lines and interactions As part of the Global Programming Group, Event Services, you will report to the Head of Participant Services.
