  The World Economic Forum is an independent international organization committed to improving the state of the world by engaging business, political, academic and other leaders of of society to shape global, regional and industry agendas.   Incorporated as a not-for-profit foundation in 1971 and headquartered in Geneva, Switzerland, the Forum is tied to no political, partisan or national interests.   As a result of the successful growth of our organization, we are now searching for a:   COMMUNITY MANAGER RUSSIA AND CIS   The Russia and CIS team integrates the foremost government, civil society and business leaders from the region into World Economic Forum activities and communities.   As a Community Manager, you will be involved in all aspects of relationship management and community development for the Russian Federation and CIS countries.   Your specific responsibilities will include:   • Relationship management: engaging national and regional public figures and providing full management of their participation in annual and regional meetings, and their involvement in other Forum activities; ensuring the relevant scope and level of participation from the region; building networks and strengthening collaboration with various government and regional institutions and with various Forum constituencies. • Comprehensive organization and administration of World Economic Forum activities for and in the Russian Federation and the CIS; conceptualization and coordination of meetings and events, agenda-setting, programme development, all relevant and related internal and external communications. • All administrative and accounting duties and logistical arrangements related to the above. • Knowledge acquisition and research on economic, social and political issues on the national and regional agendas, monitoring of policy priorities and developments of relevance to regional and international affairs. • Collaboration with other Forum teams to provide expertise and optimal integration of issues concerning Russia and the CIS into the Forum’s constituencies and activities.   This position calls for demonstrated leadership ability, expert knowledge of business, geopolitical and cultural issues in the region and global affairs. You have a minimum of three years of professional experience in a managerial role, preferably with relevant exposure to Russia and the CIS. You possess a Master’s degree in international relations, economics or business and a broad intellectual background. You are proficient in spoken and written English and Russian. Fluency in French would be an advantage. You are prepared to work in a dynamic and demanding environment, under pressure, within tight deadlines and to travel frequently.   You will join the Forum as part of the Global Leadership Fellows Programme ( www.weforum.org/glf ). The Global Agenda Council team manages the strategy and development of the Network, including the smooth functioning of individual Councils   The Knowledge Associate Director is an integral part of the GAC Team’s knowledge creation and curation activities, providing the World Economic Forum with top-notch ideas and policy recommendations.   The Knowledge Associate Director is responsible for facilitating knowledge creation and curation among a set of Global Agenda Councils in his/her portfolio, and ensuring the portfolio’s successful development and integration into strategic Forum activities. In close collaboration with the Council Chairs, the Knowledge Associate Director is nominating world-class thought leaders to become Members of the Council. The Knowledge Associate Director is also responsible for delivering the expected outcomes, facilitating the creation of new insights and ensuring optimal visibility of the Councils’ products. The Knowledge Associate Director will provide feedback on the engagement and contributions of his/her Members, proactively participate in the creation and fine-tuning of Global Agenda Council management processes and continuously develop his/her own area of expertise.   Your main responsibilities will include:   • Demonstrate intellectual leadership by supervising and integrating the activities of a number of Global Agenda Councils throughout the year and be the primary Forum contact for the GAC Members; • Act as the in-house counterpart of Council Chairs and Members in jointly defining the Council’s agenda throughout the year and shaping the Councils’ composition, including the selection and evaluation processes; • Research and perform due diligence on potential Council candidates; • Identify the most compelling ideas of the GAC from the meetings, written contributions, interviews and conference calls, and integrate them in the programme and activities of the Forum; • Monitor and synthesize relevant developments on the topic, including recent publications, speaking engagements and media coverage; • Demonstrate synthetic skills and broad intellectual background in extracting the most relevant insights of the Councils and articulate them as part of the GACs’ outreach activities; • Foster integration of GAC activities in the Forum’s programmes and initiatives.   Qualifications/skills: • A completed master’s degree in security studies, political sciences, or equivalent; • At least 5 years’ experience in knowledge management in a leading think tank or academia; • Experience in security-related issues is considered an advantage; • Excellent general computer skills and proficient in Microsoft Excel and database management; • Fluency in English and excellent written expression; • Previous experience working with teams and managing projects; • Previous experience working with high-level, demanding clients would be a plus.   If you are attentioned to detail, you are able to work under pressure and against tight deadlines, please apply online.
