  The World Economic Forum is an independent international organization committed to improving the state of the world by engaging business, political, academic and other leaders of society to shape global, regional and industry agendas.   Incorporated as a not-for-profit foundation in 1971, with its headquarters in Geneva, Switzerland, the Forum is tied to no political, partisan or national interests.   As a result of our organization’s successful growth, we are now looking for an:   OUTREACH MANAGER, GLOBAL AGENDA COUNCILS   The Network of Global Agenda Councils (GAC) gathers the world’s leading experts around the foremost themes in the global arena to capture the very best knowledge on each important issue and to integrate that knowledge into global collaboration and decision-making processes to shape global, regional and industry agendas.   The Outreach Manager provides communications and public relations service to the GAC network by:   • Developing new outlets and opportunities to promote GAC content to the Network and the public. • Fostering, curating and managing contributions by the GAC network to the Forum’s social media outlets. • Systematically producing editorials or blogs for posting on Forum outlets, on behalf of the GAC network. • Establishing relationships with relevant publications and media outlets which can, in turn, disseminate GAC content, in particular specialist journals and media where GAC content has great relevance. • Attending GAC Network meetings in order to capture and retransmit knowledge generated from those discussions on social media. • Identifying public appearance opportunities for GAC Network members and Forum Directors. • Liaising with Council or issue managers in-house to stay up-to-date on the best GAC stories. • Liaising with the Media Team of the World Economic Forum to ensure coherence and optimal leverage of Forum media resources, including video, podcasts, social media, website and editorial outlets. • Liaising with relevant in-house teams to ensure media opportunities for GAC Network members during Forum events and the GAC Summit. • Developing and managing a publications calendar for the GAC network.   You have a Master’s degree in international relations, public policy, economics or public relations. You have a proven track record in corporate communications or public affairs as well as in leveraging social media for public relations purposes. You can show proven ability to develop story lines and narratives, and can repackage content across all media channels. You possess superior public affairs/public relations skills. Your main responsibilities will be:   • Conduct fast-paced, applied research to develop a composite indicator assessing a country's infrastructure investment readiness, including: • Develop in collaboration with experts a methodological framework for a composite indicator, which includes the selection of appropriate normalisation and aggregation techniques; • Gather, structure, process and present data, statistics and factual information to identify appropriate metrics to assess infrastructure quality, government readiness, societal readiness and market readiness; this may include the creation and administration of expert surveys to collect specific data; • Compute the composite indicator rankings; • Ensure the soundness of the framework and the statistical robustness of the results by using appropriate tests and tools; • Communicate clearly and persuasively the main ideas and findings from research and analysis through written, graphical and oral presentations; • Under the guidance of the project manager or a senior member of the team you will manage specific project deliverables on a fast-paced schedule while ensuring the integrity of the selected data sets and the robustness of the new composite indicator.   Duration: 6-month internship contract   You have a Bachelor’s or Master’s degree (or equivalent) in economics, statistics,or similar field. You have experience in working with composite indicators, including framework design, data-sourcing and aggregation, computation and testing. Excellent general knowledge in private-sector development would be a strong asset. You are highly numerate and a proficient user of spreadsheets and statistics, word-processing and presentation software. The Team designs and manages the GAC Network Community and Events, and works in close collaboration with the Nominations staff and those of international organizations.   The Engagement Manager is responsible for building institutional relationships with think tanks and academic institutions in order to strengthen the overall quality of the GAC Network, increase the level of output and its impact. Your responsibilities will include to:   • Map think tank and academic engagement in the GAC Network, analyse it quantitatively and qualitatively, and prioritise top candidates to forge as “GAC institutional Champions” • Develop engagement strategy and manage its operational implementation • Collaborate closely with staff in regional and international organizations • Liaise with key Forum staff to ensure full institutional alignment • Support the GAC in attracting and engaging top-notch faculty and experts • Scout for first-rate nominees for GAC Membership • Support the GAC invitation follow-up process comprehensively, focusing on academia and think tanks • Create academic and think tank “GAC institutional Champions” • Facilitate the production of content at the institutional level (GAC Network – “GAC institutional Champions”) • Identify buyers for GAC content and facilitate the marketing of this content   You have a minimum of three years of postgraduate experience in business development for think tanks and/or academia, with a focus on fostering strategic relationships with partner organizations. You have a completed Master’s degree in international relations, public policy, economics, journalism or a related field. You possess excellent general computer skills and are proficient at Microsoft Excel and database management. You have strong communication skills and a proven track record in attaining results in ambivalent circumstances. You are fluent in English and excellent written expression. You pay excellent attention to detail and are able to work under pressure and against tight deadlines. You have previous experience working with teams and managing projects as well as working with high-level, demanding clients would be a plus.   You will join the Forum as part of our Global Leadership Fellows Programme www.weforum.org/glf.
